Reem Ghalib, MD is a nationally recognized gastroenterologist, hepatologist, and clinical researcher. She is the Founder and Medical Director of The Center for Liver and Metabolic Health and Texas Clinical Research Institute, one of North Texas’s leading Phase I–IV clinical trial centers specializing in hepatology and gastroenterology. Dr. Ghalib has built a distinguished career at the intersection of clinical medicine, translational research, and program development. She has authored more than 200 scientific publications and has served as a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials focused on liver disease. Her work has contributed significantly to advancing therapies and improving outcomes for patients with complex liver diseases. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Research Design and Biostatistics from the University of Michigan, reflecting her deep expertise in clinical trial methodology and evidence-based medicine. Over the course of her career, Dr. Ghalib has established three clinical research programs and two liver transplant programs within academic and hospital-based medical centers, demonstrating strong leadership in building innovative clinical and research infrastructures. She has been named Top Doctor in Texas and repeatedly recognized as one of the Best Doctors in Dallas by D Magazine. She was also honored by the Dallas Business Journal for her leadership in launching a new liver transplant program and developing a major clinical research program in the Dallas area. Dr. Ghalib is also the Director of the GHALA Education Institute, which focuses on physician and community education. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, followed by Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship training at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Ghalib is a nationally recognized leader in hepatology and clinical research with decades of experience in managing complex liver diseases. She has contributed extensively to advancing therapies in fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, and cirrhosis. Her approach focuses on combining clinical excellence with innovative therapies, ensuring patients have access to the most advanced treatment options available.
